I found a link to this product while reading a review of Permatex Silicone Dissolver, which got negative reviews. So, I looked into and it sounds promising. You can read about it on the manufacturer's website RPM Technologies here https://www.rpm-technology.com/product-lines/digesil/.

You can buy it here at Aircraft Spruce http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/cspages/digesil.php#review_tab.

Digesil stripping agents are unique formulations that remove silicone RTV sealants from metal, ceramic, and plastic substrates. The top silicone producers are GE, Dow, and Wacker. Silicone RTV is difficult to remove completely since it actually bond into surface/substrate.

The typically, sealant removal method requires scraping that results in damaging the substrate. There are also products that try to "dissolve" the sealants but due to their inertness, this does not work. Digesil however, reacts with the polymer chemically and breaks it down so it can be rinsed away without damage to the surface/substrate. This offers significant advantages over other removal methods. Digesil is a specialty blended chemistry that wet and penetrate the silicone polymer and relatively quickly break it down. This depolymerization prevents redeposition of the reaction by-products and allow for easy rinsing.

Digesil is also available as a gel for use in vertical, inverted and non-immersion applications. Digesil is effective at removing silicone RTV sealants at room temperature, is fast acting, has a high flash point for safety and contains less than 0.2% aromatics.

Available in both liquid or gel.

Will it craze plexiglass, poly carbons?

What does "craze" mean?
Fractures on surface of acrylic, from deterioration usually. But some solvents & other agents can cause premature fracturing. The fractures are prismatic in direct harsh light. On an aircraft with a crazed windshield, flying in direct oncoming sunlight, or at night the glare up from ground light, can be blinding. On plastic auto headlamps, a crazed lense will diffuse the light improperly.
Crazing can be many tiny fractures in groups & there can be long fractures criss crossing in web fashion. The first i call snow crazing, the latter, split crazing.
Non pressurized aircraft generally use acrylic plex windows & the edges are often sealed with silicone. When the stuff deteriorates & needs replaced, its a job getting the old muck cleaned out & surface prepped for new sealing. Have to be real careful what chemicals are used for cleaning. Acetone, lacquer thinner, MEK are no nos. The crazing wont appear immediately, takes some time,,,,,its deceptive.

Thanks for the education, Bladecutter.

I think most FBBO folks will use this on metal parts that have silicone that gets left behind after gasket removal.
