Disc brake conversion simplified help

Without posting link's to "tech article's", can someone please post what factory front disc brake's will fit a 69 B-Body that has front drum's?

I am pretty sure 74 A body. My brakes on my 67 are from a 74 Dart.

Yes 73 to 76 Abody spindles or Ebody spindles are recomended however many many many people have used the 73+ B, R, F, J or M body spindles and disks (pin or slider type calipers). Some of the 75-79 Bbody's used the larger disks as well but you MUST use 15" or larger rims.

Do we need to give you a step by step on how to remove your parts, put on the ones you got from the salvage yard, bleed the brakes etc?

I mean we all assume you know how to do those things but we can hold your hand if you are afraid to cross the street

I used spindles, rotors and calipers from a '70 Challenger for my '67 Satellite. If I had to do it over again there's probably better/bigger/stronger factory rotors to use.

I used spindles from a 74 A-body, 11.75" rotors from a '78 Magnum, calipers and brackets from the magnum, proportioning valve from the magnum, and a master cylinder from a '76 Volare- I swapped spindles from left to right to clear the sway bar.

Parts I used for a disc brake conversion

I did a disc brake conversion on a 69 Charger a while ago. I used a complete disc set up I pulled from a 73 Duster in a salvage yard. I used the spindles, and caliper brackets and proportioning valve from the Duster. Everything else we bought new from a local auto parts store. These parts are readily available and it's good practice to replace these items.

You will need to use everything brake related to the Duster. Brake rotors, calipers, brake hoses, front brake pads, wheel bearings and inner grease seals. The factory steel brake lines even screwed into the pro portioning valve from the Duster.

Make sure you mount the spindles so that the brake caliper brackets will allow you to mount the calipers on the forward side of the spindles. If you don't, the flexible brake hoses will not reach the steel lines, and you will have to take it all apart again. (Don't ask how I found that out)

I also replaced the lower ball joints with a new ones for a Duster. The upper ball joints from the Charger will fit the Duster spindles, and the Charger outer tie rod ends will fit the Duster lower ball joints.

you MUST use the pro portioning valve.

Parts From a 73 - 74 A body Mopar will be the same as a 73 Duster. 73-74 Challengers and Cuda's also have the same brake rotors and wheel bearings. In fact a lot of the cars in the 73 to 76 model year cars will work. But I know for a fact what I use worked great with no problems and it was pretty easy to do.

There you go! That's about what I paid using the original spindles and caliper mounting brackets after I bought new brake parts for the Duster set up. Plus you don't have to bust your knuckles in the junk yard!!!

There are a couple yards around here that could have your parts...pauls in westville is one I would try since you are so close.

But for future reference try not to be so hostile, helps with cooperation.

What hostility? And Pauls in Westville has jack and sh*t and jack left town. Maybe 25 years ago but its 2013, not to many old Mopars are laying around in bone yards around this area.

No you are right there isn't too much around. I did find a 68 newport in there with a big block, 727 and 8 3/4 about 2 weeks ago.
