i bought a 67 ply sat with SSBC 4whl discs and they did not hook up the emergency brakes. the stock cables look like they could be made to work. anyone know about this? thanx

Gee,
The conventional drum brake uses the cable to apply the shoes to the drum.

On YOUR car, well, that is the reason the previous owner "left the cable off"
There is probably no way to apply the emergency brake unless the "Kit" is ordered with the application.
BUT: On the new cars, the Disc has a mechanical lock in the piston
In cars with rear disc brakes, the emergency brake either actuates the disc calipers or a small drum brake housed within the hub assembly the inner circumference of the disc is often used instead of a separate drum.

Go online to the Tech help center for your product and see what they say...

In the pic below you will see THIS MasterPower brake kit comes with a "E-brake" cable that goes to each caliper.
Check your application and the Kit the previous owner used.

it has the levers for hook but no cables.

I'll take this one.......

if it's the A-155 kit that I have on my car they just didn't hook it up from pure lazy.... there's an L bracket that bolts up w/ the caliper bracket, and the factory cables go through this bracket and hook into place on the caliper, when the e-brake is applied, it simply clamps the pads together on the rotor
