Discount tire....

Or TEACH him how to do the job. So often management forgets that you have to teach them to learn.

That's unfortunate. My discount tire out here is excellent, they have done tires on 4 of my cars, never had an issue, I know the store manager personally. They actually have promoted a couple of guys from this store to managers of other stores because its run so well. I even met the regional managers one day when they were in for a visit, all and all a real nice bunch of people. I always get prompt service, heck I even stopped by one day to dispose of a couple of old tires I had, they didn't even charge me a disposal fee. Now on the other hand, big-o here isn't very good, they ruined one of the center covers and didn't tighten my lug covers, and I lost several, but they did pay to replace them.

Gather its just like expecting a gormet meal at fast food prices. But $37.50 to mount and balance a tire is pretty gormet to me.
Sounds more like a management problem that things are not getting done right. If they can not train the help it speaks little of the operation. The manager is the one you want to rip a new buthole. Its his responsibility to make sure the shop is doing the job correctly.

The LAST time I went to Discount Tire here in Eugene had 2 tires put on the front of my beater Honda. 2 miles down the road one of the bolt on hub caps came flying off. Pulled over and found it and decided to check the lugs, Yup loose. A week later My buddy had his tires rotated on his Expedition. Went home about 20 miles and lends his rig to his daughter. She loads it up towing a trailer with 2 quads and heads to the coast. On hwy 101 in holiday traffic the left rear wheel come off and rolls into the rear quarter, what a mess. Has it towed back to discount and the S__t storm started. They took care of the damages with $$ but I had to pull the axles and pound new studs in find 2 new wheels Ect. Never again D.T.

i am in management at a shop (local) here in Vegas. been here 22 years. the biggest thing you can do with the national retail stores is go in and be a total ***. get upper management involved. as you move up the chain you will get to someone who will tell the pee on's to fix or pay for every bit of damage they did. just might take some time.
