For all you guys out there that run dual quads there is an easy way to make sure they are synchronized at idle. The Uni-Syn has been around for decades but unaltered will only work on 1 or 2 barrel carbs. Here's how I made it work for my 4 barrels:
#1- Order a #TRD-2012 Carb Hat from Summit (5 1/8" neck) Check yours... cost is $6.97.
#2- Order a #4025 Edelbrock Uni-Syn from Summit. Cost is $26.97 (also found these on ebay for as little as $16.00 used).
#3- Using a hole saw, drill a 1 3/4" hole in the center of the carb hat (1 1/2"- 2" will work).
#4- Drill 3 - 9/64" equally spaced holes in the unit and hat.
#5- Using #6 X 3/4" screws with flat washers and nylock nuts, bolt the two together. The Uni-Syn has a rubber gasket on the base that will seal the joint.
#6: Use an air cleaner base gasket to seal the unit to the carb when adjusting the idle speed.
That's it. Follow the pictures and make your own. Your buddies will envy you; the girls will want to see your tool...

Don't know what happened to the order of the pictures...oh well, makes it more like a puzzle this way...

Now you need to start a thread instructing us numbnuts on how to use them haha

That's cool, i've used those on my dual carb VW many, many years ago.

Benno; It's easy to use. Buy one with the directions. Just takes a few minutes to adjust the carb idle speed so they work together.

Thanks for the cool idea....I have had a Uni-Syn just taking up space in my tool box since my 1960's weber carbed slant six project...time to put it back to work!!!!!
