This is for a 1973 - 400
It looks like these gaskets block the coolant flow? Any thoughts?

Fel Pro 1009 which should be correct.

If you had full coolant flow through those holes coolant wouldn't go through the rear half of the engine... Those passages are how sand gets removed during the casting process..... The small uncovered areas allow trapped air to escape..

Ah! I see!
Do I need RTV for any of the head bolt in which coolant goes through? Or is that not an issue with these engines?

Did you get ARP bolts? They come with the proper fastener lubricant.
Chryslers don't have the wet cyl head bolt holes.

Did your heads come "instruction delete"?

I also scratched the cylinder head which in nervous about. Grr...
Well the gasket seal that?

If you are worried about a coolant leak at a little JB weld. Don't laugh. Apply with a razor blade to fill the indentations. My race motor had some corrosion pitting. Far more severe than what you have. Ran it with JB in the pits. Worked fine at 15-1 compression. I've repaired T-stat housings and water pumps the same way.
Doug.

The gasket actually seems to cover that hole. Maybe I won't worry about it.
It's just a little close to the combustion chamber for my liking.
