I get these paper gaskets for between intake and head. Have just installed the valley pan without using those. Do I need to use them. four of them figured one between the pan and head and the other between the intake and pan. Any thoughts appreciated. Blue.

I never have. As long as your heads haven't been milled where they only did the block side and neglected the intake side.
Typically put a thin layer of sealant around the ports.
A thin layer of RTV across the top of the block and an extra dab in the corners.

Me personally,
Iron intake on iron heads on a block that's never been decked = gasket sealer, but no paper gasket
All other combos = paper gasket on top of valley pan, none under, with sealer.

And seal your intake bolts too

I agree with Don but last intake swap I did use them but I ran aluminum intake but this was me and again I did it this “time” and in the past never did. Maybe someone will chime in that knows better than me. Just my 2 cents -Rick

I have used the paper gaskets on every BB Mopar I’ve worked on for the past 40 years. And there is no imaginable situation where I would not use them when using an aluminum intake.

You gotta love the internet. Good luck.
