A little sumthin' sumthin on the side to put money in the car parts piggy bank? Since I'm a night owl I took on a very part-time security gig at an assisted living facility that looks like a 5-star hotel. These folks don't need help, the hotel just provides meals and day trips to casinos and the like. I get a good exercise walk and drive a Ram 4x4 around a little. They have 3 libraries so I've been reading a lot. The employees and residents are the nicest group of people I've ever been around. Lots of veterans so I get to hear cool stories.

I did a part-time gig doing maintenance on a retirement apartment complex, kinda one of them work on your own choice of hours kind of job also was mantenance at the local community bldg. Both were good gigs but got tired of working on weekends so I gave them up a few years ago. They generated a nice pile of cash though and of course Summit Racing got most of it!!

Ocassionally I build cars for people, also did a boat repowerr for a friend. I like building them, not fixing them though. I used to torture my stuff too, but when you build your own you control what goes into it and when you shift it.

My part of the income from the 23 unit self storage/shop complex is my car fund.

I pay all my car expenses for all my cars, except gas from that.

"Job" is generally a pretty light description, as the hardest thing is usually signing the checks and driving to the bank.

However, it can get spicy, and there are some unpleasantries occasionally.

Benefits also include what appears in the "Guess what I found in my dumpster" threads.

Last week there were five of the six "car guy" tenants working there.

Out in the yard were:

71 monte carlo
85 5.0 mustang
My 73
66 fairlane
99 camaro ss

Missing was the guy with the 64 galaxie 500

Not exactly a parts job, but when I bought my Polaris Slingshot I started manufacturing and selling accessories for it. I developed a rear protection plate made from aluminum diamond-plate for the plastic panel right in front of the rear wheel which collects all the road grime thrown up there, preventing damage and making it easier to clean. Then I developed a slick set of luggage racks that were my main source of profit. I had a couple other items that weren't big sellers, but by the time I was done I had paid for the Sling. I had a stroke just before starting this up and it was good therapy to get my brain back in order.
