Do you like the Big Mac burger?

Big Mac, I can take it or leave it. Way, WAY overpriced for what you get. A big Mac with two QuarterPounder Patty's would be a good burger..... but mcDowners would probably want $12 for it. (Burger only!).
I prefer a Big Carl even to the famous double-double, and the local Burger King in my AZ town is FAR superior to my Cali burger kings.

On a long business trip. Had to get a Big Mac today. Tasted the same in Hong Kong as the last one I had in the US. No change hare yet.

I never liked the Bic Mac, but I used to love a Quarter Pounder cheeseburger. I'd order one without pickles which would mean that they'd custom make one fresh instead of getting one that's been sitting on the rack. The last time I ordered one, I saw them pull a pre-made burger out of a warming drawer and assemble the burger and slap a piece of room temperature cheese on it. That was well over ten years ago and I've never had another McDonald's burger since.

I rather go to a good old diner for a burger & fries.

And the the best Fries are from Nathan”s

Burger & Fries are good....but given the choice, I make a beeline for my favourite fish shop.
This family from Croatia have been in the same shop since 1967.....and I've been a customer for nearly 42 years.

Here's Wally with the famous Fish Burger....

There's a little hole-in-the-wall casino with a grill, just a couple miles from my house
Darn good burger,, and fries or onion rings for $5 (less than just the bm) and real good (imo)fish and chips for $7. Take-out, two or three times a week.....
Always fresh, cooked to order.

Yes, believe it not the Big Mac is my favorite burger. We grilled some of the most expensive burgers from local butchers market but and I don't like them anymore. I still like the Big Mac the best and Whopper second if its fresh. I know I might be the exception here. People smirk at me when I tell them I love McDs.

As I routinely state here, I no longer patronize any fast food establishments unless it is about the only option. So my take might not jive with y'all's. However, back in the day, I would opt for a Quarter Pounder with cheese, fries and a drink when I'd hit Mickey D's. Prefer a BK Whopper fries and drink anytime over theirs. But now days, I avoid them at all costs. That being said, I do stop and Mickey D's if on the road for an Egg Mac Muff or 2, or a couple of their Sausage Burritos for a quick breakfast. And, yes even a couple of their Sausage Breakfast Biscuits. Easy on the ol' gut for this ol' Man. They at least have maintained a consistency as those still taste the same to me after all the years of offering them. So for me, if I cannot fix it here at home for myself, then??? cr8crshr/Bill    :usflag: :usflag: :usflag:

There's a Mexican food restaurant down the road that makes the best burgers I've ever had including the ones that I make and mine ain't bad by no means and are made with Angus.....I think the ones at that restaurant are too. Comes with fries and ain't cheap but they give vets 50% off so it is cheap for me. :D

I don't understand how McD continues to thrive. By far, their food is the worst of the fast food burger chains, and the food is no longer inexpensive enough to overlook that point. It must be the late night stoners and clean bathrooms?

The same reasons that Ford is still going lol

It seems that the family-owned hole-in-the-wall food shops (mexican, oriental, whatever) have the best food, cause they HAVE to have, to compete with the famous fast food chains.
The trick is finding those good shops, and then keeping them in business! The good food takes longer, and costs more than the pre-assembled joints.

If the mood arises, they can really hit the spot. But they are so damn expensive anymore I chose to stay away.

The family that owns this store (first store) owns two others but it took them awhile to build up to 3. This store tastes different and has a different menu but not sure about the 3rd store since it's 25 miles away. The 2nd store opened up several years ago and is 1/4 mile from me but doesn't have a burger and the one with the burger is about 5 miles and is about all I eat from there anymore. The rest of their menu is pretty good but I like the one near me better for everything else. Their first store opened up 25 or so years ago and I didn't like going there too much because it was so noisy but seems to be better now. Better acoustics maybe or maybe I'm going death.....? Don't know how long their 3rd store has been open but hear it's pretty good.

Submit & I frequent this place every once in a while on our way to or from our palatial lakefront estate. Excellent burgers, fries and onion rings!

I'm surprised nobody mentioned that stupid 3rd bun smack dab in the middle. Why did they think that would make it better?

Mickie Dees is damn near the last place I consider eating at. Except when Im on the road, then and only then because I already know what to expect,,,, and it aint much
