anyone have info on Doctor Diff’s Sure-Trac differential? I think its really great he came out with an alternative to the Eaton and it has two more worm gears! Kind of makes me want to bust out the credit card sooner than planned for one of his 8.75 third members. http://www.doctordiff.com/8-3-4-helical-gear-sure-grip-sure-trac.html Whats your take on the diff?

Just talked to him a couple of weeks ago about it. Sounds like it will be a great piece, and he sure seems excited about it. $200. more than a power lock unit and $100. more than the Tru-Trac, BUT no wear parts like the power lock and 2 more worm gears over the Eaton. I think he will sell a bunch of them.

He is very pleased
BTW: They are not cheap!

I think its going to be time for a birthday present pretty soon haha. My 2.94 is a little wimpy with my 255/70/15s and this kinda pushed me to look into them. Its awesome he is making his own stuff.

Well, the Power Lok in the 60 is nearly bullet proof.....and you will think the same as soon as you compare the size of the 60 PL to the 8 3/4 PL. Pretty big difference.

Cranky is correct. The size difference is HUGE!
By the way, the power lock I got from Cranky was in great shape and lays rubber whenever I hit the loud pedal!

Forgot about that. I've been selling so much stuff during the past year, it's hard to remember who bought what....

I hear ya. You were the first person I thought of that might have one and it was a damn fair price.

I've been running the Eaton Truetrac in a Moser 8.75" housing for a couple of years. Works great, no noise and no additive required. Happy with mine...

I had a diff like this in a powerful Supra I used to own - factory unit from Toyota. Hated it. it would single peg or LSD at its on whim and made for a very unpredictable handling car if it got loose. IE it would swap to single peg and get instant straight line grip half way through power slide. Fun times finding your self going straight forward when you were half way through a turn with the arse end hanging out.

Changed over to a 2 way powerlocker and never looked back. Completely predictable and handled amazingly. I personally would never get this style of LSD again.

Just my experience.
