Thanks for letting me join. Was referred to this forum from Facebook. I have a Dodge 330 Wagon that I did some bartering for. It has no drive train in it currently and I would like something more modern. I would like to take this on long road trip and daily drive it. Not looking for a high horsepower build, but when I merge on to I75 in FL I don't won't to get run over! So I am open to hearing some ideas. I was thinking of a frame swap of some sort. TIA

Welcome, and that thing looks to be in really good shape... I hope you get it going one day.

Welcome from Alabama, awesome patina and mostly surface rust.

Welcome to FBBO from Ontario. Good luck with 1964 Dodge wagon project. Since your car is a unit body (no separate frame), a frame swap is out of the question. The best you are going to do is a powertrain swap. A lot of guys are now going with late model Hemi. Thanks for your pictures.

Welcome from the central coast of Cal. I have a younger brother to yours. 67 Deluxe. On the full frame question, if your car has rusted out floors and unibody frames, probably a good candidate. If it's intact, the oe stuff is great with some structural upgrades. Lots of powertrain possibilities too. How good are your project skills? Welding, fabricating, wiring, plumbing, wrenching etc? What do you have or have access to for equipment? All of these will be big factors in your quest. Plus the obvious $$$.

Understand about the unibody and no frame. I would be fine with just a modern drivetrain swap then. Would I need to fab motor mounts and transmission cross memeber or is there a site I can purchase from? I am not a welder and don't pretend to be, but my buddy owns KSR Perfromance in Gainesville, FL. I have built motors and done some wrenching. As for budget, I know this will not be a couple thousand dollar project. I am thinking somewhere between $10K and $15K.

TTI headers has stuff available plus additional swap info for Gen3 swaps. Ditto for big block or small.

Bouchillon performance is well known too.

Check out the gen3 area here on the forum. Several people have done those and you can get lots of input. If you decide to stay with big or small block, there are several areas for them too along with the 62-65 section. On the structural upgrades, always a good idea to do, there are several ways to attack that Mild to wild. US Car Tool has packages available to get. You can score all or pick and choose.

On my project, 65 Coronet, I've done a mix of DIY and USCT. USCT for the spring relocation and mini tubs. The frame connectors are DIY along with many more upgrades. There will be another portion that will be a mix, 8 point cage, that I'll buy and fit/mount/weld myself. Plans for the car are track events, autocross, some drag and lots of twisty road fun.
Also you should factor in suspension re-dos/upgrades plus one of the most important upgrades. Brake system. If you don't match or surpass the go factor with the whoa factor, you may be shooting yourself in the foot. Again, plenty of choices available.

Welcome to the site. I have a 64 Fury wagon . I hope you get your wagon on the road soon.
