Does AMD (auto metal direct) price match ??

Hey guys its been a few years since I orderd a ton of parts but im getting ready to put the big order in for my newly acquired 68' gtx and am getting all sheet metal from AMD but in looking around and pricing everything I found that summit racing has the full quarters I need for almost 250 bucks less then what amd sells them for! Now I know what you guys are gonna say their not amd but Summitt advertises that these are AMD parts! So that being said anyone had any luck getting AMD to match prices ??? Thanks :headbang:

I don't think so. I doubt that they would under cut their distributors. But of course if I'm wrong someone will correct me.

If you order the parts from Rock Auto you will get them much cheaper than Summit.

I think Redhorse's "I don't think so" wasn't referring to Summit selling AMD tin or not. I believe it was in regards to AMD price matching their distributors costs. Yes, Summit does sell AMD sheetmetal. It's clearly depicted in their product descriptions.

X2. Especially if you can hit one of their free shipping deals. I would still give Jeff@521 Restorations a call. When I bought my last big order, he was the cheapest. FBBO discount and an additional 2% discount if you pay with a cashiers check or similar instead of a credit card.

No nothing against any parts houses! Just looking for the best price building this girl on a budget ! For some reason the wife thinks the kids need food and clothes before I get my parts ! L restorations were so much easier when I was the only one to feed !

I don't want to change direction of this thread but just a FYI- I just received a trunk pan for 66-77 B-body that had been on back order since September from AMD. I opened the box and the bend where the spare tire well starts had a 2 inch sloppy weld and small dents under the black coating. The area just ahead of the weld appeared to be stress compromised. I called up AMD and sent them pictures and they first offered a partial refund and then sent me a replacement free of all charges. Customer service was quick,prompt and courteous, but make sure you inspect all parts completely as soon as you receive them. I got the replacement part in less than a week with zero defects and perfect in every other way.
