Does this look right?

I bought a new reproduction B body transmission cross member for a 67 because the previous owner had some sort of chopped up cross member in the car instead of the right one.
I then found out I need to replace the mount because the previous owner must have cut the stud.
The stud has tat appearance with a rounded bottom.
But the cross member has what appears to be a plastic "pad" in the bottom of it.
And with that "pad" the stud is definitely too short.
It also is the case that the metal on the mount would sit on plastic.
Which, does not seem the best way to do it to me.

The cross member is all metal in 68 and 69. Not sure what you mean by the plastic piece, unless thats 67 only. All you need is the trans mount, cross member and bolts. Looks like you have all the right parts. Just put it together.

The "pad" is that thing in the bottom of the cross member with the cut out for the stud to go through right next to the bolt laying there.
The "pad" is about 3/16 thick and doesn't let the mount sit in the very bottom of the cross member.
Actually the "pad" has two cut outs.
One on either side. See that shadow in the top of the picture? The other cut out is right next to it.
But the metal only has one hole for the mount stud.
It just looks odd to me.
Someone should have seen this before if it is "correct".
I got the cross member from one of our most reliable four speed sources.

Well, I talked to the supplier and he assured me it was supposed to be there.
It's metal after all.

Have you tried to put the trans mount into the cross member to see if the stud is long enough? If it is too short, then something is definitely wrong. I have never had a problem like that, but all my cars have been 68 and newer. Try to find another 67 and look to see how its put together. Salvage yards down there may have some. And that cross member may be common to many vehicles that year. Maybe you could remove the "plastic" shim piece. It looks metal to me, prob because its painted.

Or maybe there is a trans mount with a longer stud.

looks to me like some one cut the stud on the mount mine looks longer
