Ok, so my 68 RE was an early car with the Inland shifter. I got the hurst conversion shifter as I hate that gear crossing piece of crap Inland. But I want the car to look 100% correct. I have a mint Inkand B body non-console handle, but I swear it looks bent to my eye. It may look perfect once installed in the car though. The trans is obviously hanging by tan straps but you can see from the pictures what it looks like. Is it supposed to lean towards the center/passenger side when in neutral? Maybe I am just over analyzing it.

It just seems like she leans hard to the passenger side is all. As soon as my pilot bearing gets here I am going to bolt it to the engine and bellhousing and then the K frame. It will have the trans being more straight up and down then to judge it.

Don't recall any stick shift Mopar having the finger pull on the shifter rod.....? What model and year car is it for? And yeah, it's leaning towards the passenger side too much imo.

It’s an early 68 roadrunner. They had Inland shifters and had the finger pull reverse lockout.

It’s probably better positioned than my 66 console shifter with a Hurst conversion, but it does seem to have an unnecessary lean towards the passenger. Seems like Plymouth thought either the driver or passenger should be able to shift the gears with equal ease.

So I got up eBay and found one for sale. I swear it looks like it is leaning the same way to me. These pics are from the front and the rear. It just looks weird to me.

Problem if there is one could be in the adapter or the shifter handle itself. Its possible it was not jigged up correctly when welded. If it does not seem right you could cut a slice not completely through and bend it. Once fitting to your liking weld it up.

Just heat it up near the base and bend it to your preference. Boot will hide that. I did this conversion myself about 30 years ago on the 1-of-0 '67 R/T wagon I built. Since the Hurst shifter does not need the T-bar to access Reverse, the reverse detent cable can be removed from the handle. I placed a light spring between the shifter knob and the T-bar to keep it from rattling.

Where the shifter is sitting in the picture is it half way between 1-2 and the 3-4 spot or if you move it forward will it go straight into 3rd ?

It might just be where the Hurst is adjusted makes it look over to the pass side when in N but not truly half way

It’s parked in neutral which would be 3-4. The shifter is freshly rebuilt by Brewers so it’s nice and tight.

Edit: I meant to quote the comment before your last post.
