My male GSD is about 14 months old and weighs 100 pounds. The Weimaraner is 5 months old and weighs about 45 pounds. They are not impressed with my German.

I am not sure if your dogs need commands in German even if they are of German origin. If so the correct pronounciation could be a problem. We have sitz, platz, aus etc. and a few more "individual" commands. And you need to know how to use your voice to underline your commands. Maybe you can find some stuff on youtube or you go to a local dog school specialiced in German dogs.

They do not need commands in German and I was trying to be factious. I like to do my Arnold Schwarzenegger voice while I run with my dogs so that my neighbors think I have a highly trained killer at my side.

IIRC correctly, these guys did a skit in which two professor types with tweed coats and elbow patches discussed how Hitler would not have been possible using the English language.
