Just got my dome light installed. I only have one door switch that came with the car and it is installed and wired on the passengers side. when i went to do the drivers side there were different wires than the passengers. I don't have a switch anyways but im wondering if there is a different switch for the drivers than the passengers. Here is a picture of what i believe is the wires for the switch. Also the dome light doesn't work at all even with the passengers side switch installed. Is this because there isn't one on the drivers? Also the key in the ignition sets off the buzzer and never shuts off even when the car is running is this because again there is no switch in the drivers side?

Diver’s door switch is different than passenger side. Passenger side switch should still ground dome lamp with or without driver’s side switch in place. Key in switch buzzer gets its ground from driver’s door switch only, via the key in-switch switch. With the switch missing, if the key buzzer is functioning, there is something else amiss. Pull the horn relay out to verify it is the key buzzer you are hearing.

Thanks for tje info on the switch. No one makes them that I know of if anyone knows where to get one I'd appreciate it it was missing when I got the car. It is deffinatly the key buzzer as i had removed the horn relay when driving so it wouldn't buzz while the car is on what will be causing the buzzer to go off if it is activated by that switch when its not even in?? Also if the dome light should work with just the passengers any ideas about what found be wrong?? New bulb and everything

If it buzzes all the time regardless of the key in the switch and a missing driver’s door switch, the black at the horn relay is getting a ground from somewhere it shouldn’t. If you want to disable the buzzer and still have a horn, remove the black wire from the relay socket. Normally the ground to activate the buzzer comes from the driver’s door pin switch(black wire)runs to the ignition switch column plug, up the column and back(two small red wires)to the key-in switch, then to the buzzer(another small black wire). It sounds like the wire from the ignition key-in switch to the relay is grounded, pinched wire around the steering column may be?
Dome Lamp, be sure you have the correct bulb number (#1004) in the dome lamp socket, check the pink & yellow wires at the driver’s kick panel for power and ground, 12v on the pink. Ground on the yellow when the passenger door is open, switch grounded. Grounding the yellow wire at the driver’s door switch plug should activate the lamp as well.
