Don't Want To Hijack "You Can't Fix Stupid" Thread, so... No Cellphone Use While Driving!!

As the title says, I didn't want to hijack the recently posted thread, so I began a new one. In the link below is a video produced by the TIA (Traffic Improvement Association of Michigan), during a safety campaign entitled "Remembering Ally". Ally was a high school student killed in a distracted driving accident (cellphone). At the time, I was the Fire Department representative for the State of Michigan on the TIA (until my retirement in 2018). I excitedly volunteered the fire department's personnel and equipment for the production - which was done in one take. Although some might consider the video graphic, the victims were all local college actors, and the professional moullage (blood and gore makeup) was done by one of my training staff. Please watch, and pass it on to who might need a reminder to not text (or use their phone at all) while driving.

I know that was "just" a re-enactment - but it tore me up something fierce anyways.
Thank you for sharing. It's quite a well done presentation.

My biggest regret is that the target audience won't pay it much heed anyways though - teenagers being
what they are (and no different in that regard to when WE were that age, mind you), they've now grown
up watching mommy in the family SUV working a damn cell phone while driving them around and think
it's no big deal.

When the video was first released, many school systems in Michigan were showing it. I don't think it lasted long, however. I wish could remember some stats, but it went world-wide within a day or two. I still occasionally send it friends, for their kids to watch.
