I was trying to replace my heater control cable and when I tried to put the clip over the cable at the control end, the clip popped off and flew somewhere under the dash... never to be seen again! I looked everywhere and can't find it, I think it found a worm hole under my dash and must have ended up on someone else's floor.

So if you find a clip like the one below that you don't want, don't need, and have no idea how it got there... please send it back to me. I will, of course, cover all shipping costs and a few extra bucks for your time!

Thanks!

I know this exact clip and have had the same thing happen on more than one occasion doing this identical action. Fortunately, I'm a hoarder so usually have spares for situations like this. I can look and see if I have yet another for you.

Sweet! Thanks. I'm sure one day it will drop back through and find it's way back to my time continuum!

Great sense of humor and good luck in your quest BP318,may the force be with you.

This phenomenon falls under the old saying which ANYONE that works on cars knows well: Tiny objects - when dropped - run and hide.

So true Bob, and it doesn't matter what part of the car your working on.....if you drop a spanner or socket it goes to the center of the car.

Truer words have never been spoken....I lay card board under the car so when I drop some thing I just pull the cardboard out and grab my tool :)

I know I have at least one extra let me know if Polara Pat can't find one for you.

LOL! That's a good idea! My luck though, it would land a half inch away!

I put cardboard under the car once. The cardboard disappeared too.

Thanks, dartforforty... will keep you posted.

A quick survey didn't turn any up, lots of cables but no clip so far. I'd grab that one from Ed if I was you before he drops it. Failing that I'll do a more throughout search.

On the plus side I did find the steering coupler that I've been tearing my shop apart trying to locate lately while looking for this clip. So indirectly...thanks BP318.

Thanks for checking... you got the result that I get when I'm looking for something else - I find something I was looking for some other day and couldn't find! lol

Ed... if you have one you don't mind parting with, PM me and I'll get your info and send you some $$

thanks...

Ha... I was going to be a smart-alec and tell you that the nearest dealer is 1500 miles away, but it's only about 75-80. This time I'm tying a string to it and if it flys away and ends up somewhere else I'll just follow the string (even if it's into another dimension!).
