drivers door. Car was completely apart when I purchased it. I know they are door brackets just not sure where they go or what they do????

The one on the right looks like the bracket that goes at the bottom of the vent window frame and attaches the frame to the bottom of the door. The one on the left I am struggling with....I think it is not door related. Look at the finish. The bottom of that bracket has an interesting form...looks like it attaches to something round...hrmmm

I retract that thought..it's not the bracket at the bottom of the vent window frame.......darn sure does look familiar!

I have the vent window in with the bracket you are referring too and yes they do look similar. I see where the long skinny one bolt to on the inside of the door but it doesn't appear to do anything. A picture of a 68 b-body door with no door panel would help. Someone out there has to know what these 2 brackets do and where they go and what they do. I have a 68 service manual but the pictures are vague.

Maybe I am asking the wrong question?? What stops the window from rolling down too far? Do these brackets look correct for a 68 GTX? The car was apart when I purchased it so these could be for another car?? The long skinny bracket bolts to the middle of the door for sure. Thanks Larry J

So after some research it appears the small bracket bolts to the bottom inside of the door and holds the window channel bracket which I am missing. The skinny bracket I see where it bolts in but have no idea what it actually does??

Thanks for the picture. I figured out that the car was missing the rear channel guide and thats where the bracket goes you pictured. I see where there skinny bracket bolts to in the door but I have no idea what it does? Thanks Again Larry J

The skinny bracket is the up stop for your door glass regulator on a 68. The regulator arm makes contact with it when you wind your window up
