Door hing pin replacement on a 63 Polara

I need to replace the upper hinge pin and having never done it was looking for some advise from someone who has.

- I assume the door has to come off by the looks of things? Plan to mark current hing placement prior to removing.
- I purchased a replacement pin and bushings from Mega Parts but its different than the original, It appears the stock part was pressed and expanded on the ends after being installed, I assume I have to grind one end flush to Knock it out?
-Remove old bushings and replace with new.
-The replacement is splined, I assume you install with the headed end on the top and just tap it in.

Seems simple enough just don't want to damage anything in the process.

you're on the right track. Definitely remove the door. Before starting I'd double check the diameter of the new pin and bushing along with the correct length. I have seen replacements that don't match current.

I would take the new pins and drill a hole for a washer and cotter pin. Then drill a hole for a grease fitting in the hinge area. it doen't take long to do. The factory pins are pressed in and then they spike the tip. You should also look at the hole's for the pins to make sure they are not out of round and if so you will need to weld up the opening and redrill.

Drilled, bushed and reinstalled, happy to say no nicks the hardest part is aligning the door. My son helping out.
