Hey all,
Have my doors off and want to tear down for strip and repaint. Was wondering what is the best way to go about this?
So far all I have off is the window roller, side mirror, handle, and trim panel. Need to get out the glass and "guts".
Actually, do I need to take everything out for repaint? Couldnt I leave in some stuff like the window channel? (probly need to take that out in order to remove glass tho....yeah...Im a little lost on order of how to do this...LOL)

Appreciate the help guys.

You probably dont have to strip it all but I would recommend it so you can clean and grease the track when you put it back together. The paint shop is going to get dust and crap everywhere and I mean everywhere. I went ahead and scribed with a scriber around every washer on my door bolts. When it came back from paint I could faintly see all my marks and aligned them back up and did not have to adjust a thing. Saved me tons of time. Plus while the car was out for paint cleaned all the tracks and made sure the rollers all were clean and spun free. I took the vent wings out and got it re-chromed ( its now or never on that )Hope this helps. One more thing. Paint places loose a lot of things so dont give them any thing you dont want missing. It took me 2 years before the first paint guy to find the splash shields that go behind the front wheels. I knew I did not take them off and I was right.
