I would like to thank everyone here for all of the help to make this possible. My father has about a month or so left on this earth as he is losing his battle with cancer and he wanted a ride in his car. He bought it in 1970 and took it apart aprox 16 plus years ago to paint and so body work and you know how things happen. Then he got sick and could not finish the car so it was left to me to get it done. I was confused as all hell trying to figure out where things go and how it goes back together.

So with the help from this site he is getting his ride tomorrow and many more until he passes. I still have some trim and other minor things to get done but it is road worthy for now (unless it rains.......seals for doors and trunk)

Again thanks for all the help and here are a few before and afters.....Jim

Wow, what a story! I'm glad you got it done well enough and soon enough to enjoy it. Car looks great!! My best to your dad and the rest of the family.

Enjoy your remaining time together and cherish it and take a lot of photos of the smiles your efforts have provided.

God Bless your Dad. He has good taste in cars. Is that Y2 Yellow?

We're cruising to Alices in Woodside around 1130 tomorrow. 2/05/12. Guess that may be too far for you. If not, see you there.

Sorry to hear about your Father, I hope you get to take him for many rides. Not an easy thing your going through, I lost my Dad in 2006 to pancreatic cancer. Best wishes for you and your family.

well buddy my heart and my hat go off to you and yours. these are some times you will cherish and not forget, god bless you and yours.

Quality time now with the car and the two of U. I see a burn out in the near future.
Enjoy the hell out of it with Dad. Make time to drive it like U stole it.

thats a nice and loving gesture. enjoy your time left together. i lost my father to cancer back in'92 and i miss him to this day. you did a fantastic job on that car and im sure your father is proud of you for many many reasons....as he should be!

I remember you made mention of this when you first started of your helping dad when younger, You have something that will give you pleasure for years to come doing this. In 92 I lost my dad to pancreatic cancer, Things like this is great and i hope you both enjoy it for some real quality time together. God bless you and dad!

Well we were able to get a good ride in before the front seal on the trans made us stop. It had a minor leak that turned into a major one but we made it home. I was prepared for that so had some extra fluid with us. He is so weak now that I wanted to get atleast one ride in even if the leak went bad.

I am guessing the big burnout did not help but man the smile on his face I will never forget and it was all worth it. It was a great day and I hope to be able to pull the trans soon and just hope it is just the front seal.

Thanks again to all of you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jim

I admire your commitment to your father and the project. Take this time to build some new memories with your Dad. I had just gotten my Coronet before my Dad passed. He said that he would go into the shop and just look at it and how it brought back memories of his 65 Chrysler 300. I wish he had lived long enough to go for a ride in it. I`m so glad you made it happen for your Dad! The car looks awesome! God Bless

Very nice! All the best to you and your dad.

Seeing 3 generations of MOPAR guys in that picture is awsome!!I lost my Dad this past October and seeing you guys together really touched me:hello2:

Heartfelt story buddy.....Priceless your father got a chance to touch he dreams thanks to your hard work. Very nobile of you. The memories attached to that Dodge will make it more than just a car for generations to come. Great job..you should be proud, not just for the quality restoration, but the reasoning behind it.

Wow that is great what you are doing. Nothing better then the family bond. Enjoy the time with your dad in that awesome looking Bee ! I wish the best for your dad and your family. Ron

Very nice Family and "B". Have fun with it and enjoy.

Sorry to hear of the trans but glad you was able to make him smile.. You have a good deal to be proud of!

Tell dad this thread has followers all over the world, it is reminding us all that we shall take care of our own, family, friends and moparlovers!
I will give my 80 year old dad a call today, there will be a day when he doesn´t answer anymore, live now and stop defer things.

Mopar fans from Sweden wishes you, dad and the rest of the family all the best, keep that nice Bee roaring down the boulevards!
