Hey guys, got in a conversation at the tire shop last night with a guy about driving older restored cars everyday.

He was saying nice car and all that, and its to bad you got a flat the only day you decide to take it out. I told him i drive it every day. He gets a puzzled look on his face. I told him its not a real Bee, just a Coronet with a 440 in it. "oh, but you still should let that big engine rest between drives" sigh

How many of you guys drive yours on a daily basis? I know there are a few Mopar clubs around here, and they dont seem to drive the cars much as i hardly see others around, thats probably why my car is a magnet for attention.

I have always driven my cars, my 64 Custom 880 was my daily driver, people thought i was crazy for that too. I actualy had another car when i had my Satellite, so i didnt drive that everyday.

I can see leaving a Superbird/Daytona or a different Hemi car in the garage though.

How many of you drive yor cars daily?

I drive mine. But then again my Doba isn't a muscle car. Why would a engine need to rest between drives? Does it have a medical condition?

LOL. thats funny, I wondered that too, he probably ddint realize its a actual machine and needs to be "exercised" each day.

My car gets a little ill if I don't take her out at least once a week and she lets me know it. I don't leave home much.

I wonder if that guy has the same condition my car has but in reverse. Don't you just hate a lazy car?

Yeah, dont like lazy cars, mine fouls a plug once every morning on start up, so i give it some hard exercise once i get it out of the neighborhood. Gotta look at that sometime.

Be back later my car is raising hell about not being driven this week. She has forgotten about last Monday. :rolling:

I drive my 71 charger daily from spring through fall. It gets alot of attention in parking lots and a couple thumbs up now and again goin down the road. Don't see many mopars in my area. I have seen a cuda, runner, and charger but they are rarely driven. But in the winter I drive the Ram 1500.

There are a few MoPar clubs in my area, Seatle, Tacoma and a Northwest chapter, but never see them driving the cars.

I drive mine everyday, except when it snows. I have a garage and there is a parking garage at work, and i only have a 5 mile drive anyway, so i dont have to worry too much about other crazy drivers.

A King County Sherrif gave me the thumbs up the other day when he passed me.

oh, it is too expensive to drive a V8 daily here in Germany!
1.32 Euro per Liter or 7.17 USD per gallon!

Anything else! :black_eye:

Yikes, that would get expensive.

Are there a lot of muscle cars in Europe?

I worked for a Corvette place a while ago, and we prepard a few cars to go overseas.

Yes, here are a lot of muscle cars and other us cars.
Watch my site for example! ;-)

Nice cars, I had a 67 Satellite with a 383, the wife had a 67 Charger as her first car. Always wanted to find a Lil Red Express.

Well I'm back. My car paid me back for not driving her yesterday. Had to get my big battery charger out to start her. Then stopped to get gas she paid me back for all the juice I gave her to start she refused to start again.
Asked one of the stations employee's to give me a jump start which he did using a Nissan and the fool hooked up the jumper cables wrong almost blew up my battery and he drives a Mopar :gah: ended up buying a new battery terminal and that shut her up. She Gets damn fussy when she don't get her way.

I have a LRET that is in my signature.

I drive it daily and use it to pull a small trailer and a car dolly with for my Hemi car.

It was converted to a 440 when I got it and I converted it to 4X4. It has PS, PBD, A/C, AM/FM, and bucket seat interior.

Here are some pictures of it.

Hate it whan that happens. Have yo seen that commercial for that "Easy" Jumper cables" I think they are made by Michelin. They are blue, all of it, even the clamps. The first time i saw that it though theres a law suit ready to happen there.

These days it’s very hard to drive an old muscle car on a daily basis. Quality Fuel and mileage are the easy problems. Then you have to worry about the jerk next to you texting in moms mini van. But one of the biggest problems in NY is you need a baby sitter to watch the car when it’s parked unattended, or it will disappear. I am sure this is a problem every where too. But I drive it as much as I can in the nice weather. I am lucky to have driven a bunch daily back in days of 1$ leaded fuel...

No I haven't.

Fortunately I live in the rural part of a very low crime area small resort town, so this is not a problem for me.

Yeah, i agree, some people just cant let other people have something nice.

I think the dude that had the Coronet before me may have pissed someone off, the bumblebee stripe has a light zig zag scratch on it all the way across. I need to replace it one day, after i finish the car.

Someone walked over my Custom 880 one night, woke up and found footprints across the length of the car. GRRR
