I bought a 68 dodge charger 440 R/T and the previous owner installed the dual pickup line out the side of the pan to the pump and then a dual oil filter relocation to the other side of the engine mounted to the inside of the frame but never finished hooking up the lines. Sooo I had 2 steel braid lines made ran them hooked them up(none of my stuff leaked). I have read the dual pickup is a great add on but I dont know about the relocation of the filters is this a good setup or should I remove the relocation filters and steel braided lines and just install the single filter on the pump side.It all appears to be working but I have an oil leak at the pump it appears to be coming from one of the oil pump hold down bolts but I need to verify.Thoughts or any help much appreciated I am new to mopars.Thankyou.....Dave

Budnicks runs a dual filer setup on the drivers side in his wicked bad 68 RR. PM him if he doesn't happen along shortly. He'll be able to advise if someone else doesn't pipe up first. Just seems like a lot of extra line length for no apparent reason to have it on the passengers side unless the PO was trying to add volume by having longer lines.

I have dual filters on my truck and one car. one is a filter and the other is a screen, i go thru the screen and then the filter.

Not sure what is long though, the car is probably running a total length of 20" while the truck is 36"

Make sure you add the oil for the system plus 1 and you'll be ok, for example the trucks pan is 5qts, plus filter normally is 6, now it is 9
