Dual Snorkal Air Cleaner?

Can you use a Mr Gasket or other air cleaner base plate on a 66-67 RT/GTX dual snorkal air cleaner? I have a 67 dual snorkal air cleaner without a base plate that I want to use on my build. Please give me your input if you have crossed this bridge before or you know what will work, thank you.

Hi - this might help - here is my 64 Dodge where I used the stock lid and a Mr Gasket base. I wanted to do this so I could have the stock look on top but have the larger carb inlet opening for the base. I think it's a 10" filter and it mates up to the stock air cleaner lid really nicely.

Absolutely - I have an Edelbrock 800 AVS type carb on my car and had to use a later model base plate because the AFB base plate has a smaller diameter opening than AVS carb baseplates. I used a baseplate from a 68 or 69 unsilenced air cleaner and the 67 dual snorkle top is much larger diameter and over hangs it and now works as an unsilenced air cleaner rather than breathing through the snorkles. Looks stock however.

Yes you can, I have an Edelbrach hi rise intake on my 383 and for clearance to the hood I used a smaller diameter base and a narrower K&N air filter with a stock dual snorkle air cleaner it get air thru the snorkles and from around the smaller dia base.

Any air cleaner base that would use a 13" filter element. Had to use a Ford motorsports drop base so my hood will close with a 68 unsilenced air cleaner.

You can shop the K & N site for filters by dimensions also. I have a couple of filters that I don"t need that might work I'll sell for cheap if you can use them. not sure what size they are right now. Pm me if your interested.
