I have one of Mopar's restoration coils, #1-02495531, that's listed for either point, or electronic ignitions. Also listed for 72 up (think that's right). Close enough.

Question is...any reason I can't use this coil on a earlier set-up, using a Mallory dual-point. Hehe, years ignition are 64, and 69. What would be different on an earlier coil??

If it is an OE type replacement, it shouldn't matter. Designed to work with a ballast resistor, 12 volt system. Even it it is a different part number, it will still work.
