Replacing timing cover gasket on LA, pretty easy to figure it all out, but I didn't remove a dust seal from the crank/oil slinger, is it needed? and does it go inside the oil slinger, against the timing cover seal? Any help/pics appreciated. Thanks.

Normally, you'll get a new crank seal with the gasket set. Replace the old one that's in the cover the same way.
Just leave the slinger on the crank when you remove the cover. The dampner holds it in place when you reassemble.

Thanks, but that's not what I'm asking about. I know about the oil slinger, and I replaced the crank seal... there's also a felt dust seal in the LA timing cover kit that fits on the crank inside the oil slinger, but I didn't remove one, so I'm wondering if that felt seal should be installed between the oil slinger and and the crank seal on the timing cover. thanks.

I figured it out, it goes on the outside of the timing cover inside the back side of the damper. Thanks!
