How many of you non-factory disc brake guys have these things?

Particularly those running drop spindles. You can't all be running without them.

I have 0 on my 4 wheel discs. That means when everything gets rusty, they won't drag on the rotors and make noise!:)

I'm sure I've got them on my regular cars too. Never had any trouble out of them - maybe should check to see what condition they're in, as they're considered a "wear" item. Have never given them a 2nd thought until now. The thing is, I can see using my Charger in less than ideal conditions. I can see putting a lot of miles on it - it's either that, or own four cars instead of three. Can't give one up once I get it.

You converted to a factory disc brake setup?

Do any guys who upgraded to bigger discs have dust shields?

I'm particularly interested in Dr. Diff's 1st gen Viper calipers on drum spindles, and the 13" Viper kit on drop spindles.

None. BAER 4 wheel system here but then again they're on trailer queen. (didn't mean to build one, it just turned out that way). ~500 miles a year.

We put them on my '63, as these came with the Factory style kit. I've always felt it gives a more finished look, and would have had them If these rolled off the assembly line with discs...

I bought a Dr Diff front disc system (not the ones you’re looking at) and it came with dust shields, so I put them on

Is anyone putting miles on their performance brakes (that don't have dust shields) without seeing damage? Driving in the rain, down a gravel road, that kind of thing?

What sway bar do you have in front, and how wide is the center section?

I can't answer the first question, no gravel roads or driving in the rain for this car. BAER does recommend occasional hard stops on gently driven cars to help keep the rotors seasoned. They also recommend no shields. They say it helps with cooling. Either that or they're just too lazy to manufacture them to fit their kits.
Here is the sway bar I'm running. Will take a measurement later today. Hellwig 55903 Hellwig Motorsports Tubular Sway Bars | Summit Racing
