E85 anyone running it?

I have run a mix in my 451 of 3-2-3 , thats 100 Sunoco 3 gallons, E-85 2, 91 Premium 3 gallons. It works great with no pinging. 13 to 1 C/Ratio. But with 1 to 1 premium and E-85 it would ping. Im using an 850 CFM Holley dbl pumper carb with 86 jets all around. Stock is 80. I haven't changed any part of the fuel system other than larger jets in the carb. 3 years and no issues.

Have you tried straight E-85 without blending it? E-85 is supposed to be 105 octane, I think blending it with pump gas would lower the octane?

You have to remember this is California. We don't have oil and gas running from our faucets here like you do in TX. Just our regular gas is $1.25 more per gallon than the rest of the country. They tell us it's a special anti pollution blend. Part of the ridiculous cost of living here.....

Yeah, that's right. That's one of the things I DO NOT miss about living in California, but other than the DOT regs/requirements it is a nice place to live. I'm thinking about switching to E-85, all I have to do is fall off the fence onto the correct side, it's just not as easy if you've never done this before. And, I can buy a brand new, from Holley, HP carb for E-85 for what Summit/Jegs would pay, just having a hard time commiting.
