That's the lightest I've seen. what engine, cage, and interior?
Doug

My 63 is basically all stock. Still has the heater box in it with all the factory glass and steel bumbers. I added a 6 point roll bar and frame connectors. It goes just over 3700 with me in it and about 3540 without me. Doug you really got that sweet 64 of yours pretty light. Ron

DVW,500 ci wedge alum.headed steel block, Mild steel 6 point roll bar with swing out side bar, Lexan side windows, Corning lt. weight back glass, Full SS interior by Gary Ball. Steel doors and deck lid, Steel dash. I weighed it at gateway race track!

What does your's run? I could get mine to around 3000 lbs if I took out one battery and went to glass bumpers and deck lid. Next 100 lbs after that wouldn't be cheap. I was surprised that mine was this light. Even more surprised at yours.
Doug

DVW, Yeah! I was surprised at the weight! I ran it the first couple of seasons with some outdated equipment! best I could get was The mid tens. Looking for the low 10s! new cam, intake, and headers. It was very consistent with the old equip. 11 0s @124mph! Dropped a valve last year at Cedar Falls so had to rebuild and up dated it.

I think its funny that a few early b body guys say their car weight 3700 or 3800 lbs and run no hood, no back seat and fiberglass trunk lid and cheapo jaz plastic molded seats. thats hilarious. the car originally from the factory only weighed 3250-3350 lbs.

The problem is that you ditch all the interior and dead weight then add a roll bar (or cage), sub-frame connectors, a big block if it didn't come with one and you're back to where you started. Glass is heavy, as are regulators, so ditching them in favor of lexan and straps is always a bonus. We've taken close to 100# in undercoating and accumulated debris from the bottom of two race cars that we've put together. Sometimes you need to get a bit crafty, especially if you build wagons like us, so we're already behind in the weight game.

Mine is all stock other then a glass hood. But it has a roll bar and frame connectors added. Stock seats also. Now mine is the Sport Fury which has the most mlds and all and it weighed about 3540 without me and just over 3700 with me. Never seen any all stock weigh 3250 but I have heard the stripped Savoy went about 3400 all stock. Course mine is the only one I have weighed and I am not just saying what mine weighs I know thats what it weighs because I weighed it myself. Ron

My hunk of **** weighed 3780 with steel hood, bumpers, and 280# driver. The 18ga sheet metal floors,40# subframe connectors, and bedliner coating inside and underside didn't help the weight any. Factory steel hood was around 55# and bumpers together were around 80#. Don't quote me on the part weight this is from memory using a bathroom scale about a year ago.

Of course Chris who's to say the scales we weighed our cars on are real close either as who knows how often the scales are calibrated. I will say I have always heard the early B's are the lightest B-bodies out of all the B-bodies. I honestly felt that 3540 without me in it was not bad for my fully loaded Sport Fury as it has everything including the heater box and all plus the added weight of the roll bar and frame connectors. I was thinking it went about 3400 to 3450 at most without the roll bar and frame connectors which I feel is pretty light for a fully loaded B-body. I have heard of Coronets and GTX's weighing about 3700 or more all stock. My buddies swears his 66 Hemi Coronet weighs 3980 with a full tank of gas and its all stock and all there. But seriously I can only tell you what mine weighed on the truck scale I weighed it on. We also weighed my boys 72 Dart with the 400 in it on the same scale and it also has a roll bar and frame connectors. His Dart weighed 3550 with him in it or 3370 without his 180 in it. I would figure your Savoy would be lighter then my 63 as they seem to be close to the same equipped as I dont think your Savoy is tubbed and has an all stock body as my Sport Fury does. Mine has no tubs , no springs are moved as all the suspension is in stock location and no modifications to the body which your Savoy looks to be the same to me. Ron

All this is encouraging for me as I slowly work on my 65 Coronet. Right after I got it, I started lookin online at curb weight specs and was very surprised to see they are as light as they are. Certainly lighter than the GM A bodies of the same era.

63 Polara 500, every factory piece back on the car, glass hood, mega block, dana, iron indy heads, full cage and with me in it 3995 lbs.
