Early B-Body race weight

63 Polara 500, every factory piece back on the car, glass hood, mega block, dana, iron indy heads, full cage and with me in it 3995 lbs.

I don't feel so bad now.Can we say 1800 JennyCraig :sSig_lol3:

my 63 savoy is all stock with everything in it, front & rear bench seats, door panels, dash, added ladderbar system, dana 60,retains all wiper motor, visors, all glass windows with regulators still there, all steel, everything added full moly rollcage, and with my longacre digital scales without me in it is 3350 lbs.

I believe this weight. But lets take a look. Light tires and wheels, headers, ladder bar instead of leaves, savoy (no body side trim),no spare and jack. I'm also assuming? no exhaust, aluminum drive shaft? ,water pump?,light brakes. It may or may not have all of these. But the weight as to go some where. Mine has lexan (real windshield), no regulators, no back seat. It also has a fire system, 2 batteries, mega block, oil accumulator, vacuum pump. The final deal is do what you can to lose the weight and keep it in the state of looking original that you like. My bet is a stock street big block weighs about 3600 give or take.

Actually my 63 is only about 150 lbs more then your Savoy. I do have all the factory glass and all the window regulators and a full exh system under the car with the stock gas tank along with the factory power drum brakes. The wipers and radio all work as do all the lites and the heater blower motor. In fact it passes a Md state inspection as I should know since I am a Md state inspector. As I said it wemt just over 3700 with me in the car. Sounds about right as I would figure your Savoy to be lighter then my Sport Fury. Course thats why most racers opt for the Savoy which if I was racing a class where every bit counted for the best et I would have looked for a Savoy. But this Sport Fury almost fell in my lap and I do like the looks of it best with the added trim. For me where I dont have to worry about every tiny bit of et I prefer the Sport Fury as I like the looks with the extra trim and chrome. But if I was a class racer I would go for the Savoy for sure. My '65 4 door belvedere slant six weighed in 3430#, since then I have removed: headliner, sound deadening, front rear bench's, front/rear bumper, gas tank, heater assembly, wiper assembly, factory gauge cluster, a lot of wiring. I have some light wheels for it, fuel cell, aluminum intake manifold, plastic buckets, fender exit exhaust (straight pipe). Using a single turbo set-up, but still hoping to get under 3000#...
