Eaton Truetrac - need opinions

I have a 1st generation Detroit locker in my 1965 Belvedere II that I am thinking of replacing with an Eaton TrueTrac as I am looking for better drivability. Anyone thoughts or opinions?

I have a TruTrac in my Charger! An investment that paid off for sure!

ABSOLUTELY!! I used one in my '08 Challenger 8.8 rear end and have one in the Dana in my '64. well worth your upgrade cost.
 
Hay guys, that's great that they are "well worth the cost" and "an investment that paid off for sure", but can we get some specific info? Some actual feedback? Like how does it transfer power? Is it smooth? Is it harsh? Does it transfer equally? You know like maybe a real answer?

good point R3. the power transfer is equal if you have a flat surface and your differential is up to operating temperature (Very important). Being a helical differential, if you shift more weight to one side of the car (due to an uneven surface) the opposite tire will spin a bit more. because of this the tire with traction will "push" the car back to "true" and both tires receive "equal" torque. This all happens in a split second-ish. If you launch on a flat surface or line lock a burnout, it performs like any of the clutch or locker differentials. (at least that what happens in front of my neighbors house about a mile down the road)

When your not under 800 horses of WOT, the car will handle like any stocker when pulling into the grocery store parking lot. No binding, tire chatter, popping or cracking. or in the case of a worn out posi, which won't hook at all. at least that's been my experience.

exactly what 2059 said i also have one in my charger. it provides the power to both wheels quick and easy, it makes next to nothing noise, it does not clunk or chatter, and it does not cause the inside wheel to lock.

because it is the opposite of a detroit locker.
detroit locker is always locked and slightly opens up on a corner etc.

the true trac is open until torque is provided which pushes the helical gears into action.

truly is one of the best upgrades i have put on my car.
