edelbrock heads , do i need to surface these?

Did you blow a head gasket? Just about anytime I have the heads off a car I will run them to the machine shop to have them checked for straightness and a light surface. Especially aluminum heads that have more of a tendency to warp. Just something I've always done. Seems like cheap insurance.
 
No blown gasket , just that we only have one machine shop here and they are very pricey , and they kinda have the attitude it needs to be done weather it's needed or not
 
if they are big enough to catch your fingernail on,then yes resurface.
 
definetly feels like a blown head gasket or water leak, why else would there be corrosion there? i have heard some people use coppercote on the gasket maybe try that when reinstalling
