Hi all, this is my first post. I have a 69 rr and I cannot get the fuel gauge, dash lights(including idiot lights), wiper motor, heater blower motor, horn to work. I have done the following: complete new wire harness from year 1, had gauges tested(and they work), ground from block to firewall is attached, ground at gas tank is new and attached, new circuit board. All lights work, car starts and runs well. This is a complete resto, I also added addtional ground from both sides of the circuit board to a good ground. I am just out of ideas. Any help would most appreciated. Thanks.

separate your problem...try to fix one problem at a time.....New wiring installed.....check for some type of connection issue........First.... oil & fuel gauge get power from voltage limiter...dash light from dimmer switch..focus on fuse panel & related wiring, make sure you're getting power from fuse box to instrument panel...Check connector on the backside of the fusebox ...

check & see if all bulbs are Ok.....
Dash lights gets power from the thumbwheel dimmer switch on the dash...dimmer switch if you have power... jumper the (2) leads to see if dash lights work..

If you confirm (1) dash light fuse is good (2) Have power to dimmer, you have the on its highest point... & no lights . (3) check ground , instrument cluster is usually grounded thru the screws that hold it to the dash frame. if good.. Then I’m thinking printed circuit board . jiggle it a little... check pins @ board...If light work.......then it’s the board...

Ok, so much is working now, but not everything. Heater fan only works on high speed with a/c on. Passenger brake light not working now. Speedo not working with new cable.I am thinking the fan switch is the issue with the fan not working. No clue on the other two. Any advice is appreciated.

On the speedo, make sure the end of the speedo cable core going into the speedo behind the dash is actually engaged all the way into the square socket in the speedo, and pushed all the way in. Often these are not indexed to slip into the socket and won't. If not, you'll have to remove the speedo cable connector at the trannie and turn the core a bit at a time until the core's orientation up at the dash is right so that the core can slip into the speedo socket.
