ok kids...daddy has a few xtra buxx this week and im gonna do it...im buying an electronic ignition for my purple beauty. one question tho. i am on ebay and a few other sites looking for a complete kit for the change-over. a few sell the kit with a coil...and some dont. do i need a new coil or will the ballast resistor take care of that? they are running anywhere from $149.00 to $299.00 . orange box?...or blue box???( module i mean). ill be sittin here awaiting your input

thanx kids!

ok...i couldnt wait for an answer so i got a Pertronix
PNX-D142700. tell me what you think. its plug and play and no module thingy on the firewall.paid 280.00 total with shipping !

Pertronix is decent stuff, you should be happy with the results, I like/prefer the original style CEI {Chrysler Electronic Ignition} systems in my street/strip cars & the chrome box for street & the gold box for the track days, both use different coils for peak performance capabilities... The reasoning if something goes wrong out while on the road you can get replacement parts at almost any chain parts store... The Pertronix's are good stuff though...

thanx for the input Bud. im am not planning on driving this car across country just local. i understand about the breakdown possibilities and parts availability....and i was going to go with the CEI.. but i heard good things about pertronix. if i have any issues with the one i bought, i will go with the CEI for sure. thanx again!
