Emissions question new vehicle

Oregon mailed the paperwork to the California DMV in San Jose. Hope they didn’t lose it. If I had it, I’d just drive to Florida to register it. Simple. Inexpensive. No smog.
Sell it to me for $1 and Ill register it in IL :p

Easy move in this direction. No hassle or wait times.

I don't get the question - the sticker says the car is California emissions compliant already?

Every car, truck, suv and crossover with an ICE is 50 State Emissions Legal. The ONLY thing different between a car sold in Utah and Commiefornia is that Commiefornia requires all new vehicles sold within its border, are required to be smogged checked by the manufacturer before it lands in Commiefornia to be sold.

In Harris County Tx, they only check to make sure the 'systems' are functioning properly and don't actually sniff what the fart can is putting out. Plug it into the computer and if no codes etc, it passes.

Honestly, any State that has smog checks should only be concerned with what comes out of the tailpipe, nothing more. Meaning, do what ya want to the engine, so long as it passes smog. There’s no reason to look at anything, just put it to the sniffer.

Well, if you do it that way, won't you need to run the vehicle on a dyno? I had to contend that mess on my 95 for years and it sucked not to mention how often the dyno needed to be worked on and then the hunt is on for another station that had a working dyno. They weren't cheap either. The 95 was the last year for the ODB I system and once mine hit 25 years old.....it didn't need to be smog checked anymore and everyone scrapped them and in a hurry! My 95 Dakota was always border line on the NoX and learned that testing it in the winter time, the cool air into the intake reduced the NoX readings. Also learned that removing the air filter reduced it even more and one more thing......a colder T-stat made it even better :D
