engine color

Hi

Im going to pull my 1969 383 motor out of my road runner for engine detailing and seals.
The car was produced out of St. Louis

The engine color is orange now.

I have seen other 69 roadrunners with blue engines

What is correct? Did it have to do with the assembly plant?

I don’t know other than standard engines were turquoise and HP versions were orange.

engine colors 1960-1973

Below is what I have come up with as a good start to find the correct engine color for Mopar engines from 1960 to 1973. After about 1969 they were all pretty much Blue except for a few odd balls. I have seen Slant sixes in Black in the early 60's sales brochures but those are not the best...

1969 RoadRunners and SuperBees that were factory equipped with A/C had the tamer 330 h.p. turquoise 383. All others had the 335 h.p. orange 383 HP engine.
