Hi!

I am about to install a new engine oil dipstick w tube. Got a new tube and dipstick from MegaParts, just wondering if anyone in here knows if the parts look "factory correct" (I know the handle should be black but that is a minor thing). My car is a 68 Charger with a 440 and a stock 402 oil pan (with windage tray). I posted up some pics with measurements. My current dipstick is a Chinese chromed piece and I have no good reference of how "factory original" are supposed to be...

That's as close as you will get without buying an original.

The dipstick tube has a taper on the bottom end where it goes into the block. Plus it has an expanded ring area where it fits against the block and keeps it from going in further. Then the metal tab above that has a hole in it that an engine mount bolt goes thru, and that holds the tube in there solidly. The hardest part is removing the engine mount to block bolt, and re installing it. It depends on how much room you have around the headers or ex manifold. Otherwise, it's a pretty simple install. And yes, that looks very close to an original factory set up.
