Posted this over in the paint section, got little response. Maybe this will work better ....

I'll be painting my 383 soon and need to get some turquoise engine paint. I was looking at the Por15 chrysler turquoise and before I commit was wondering if anyone has good results with it. Is the color close to factory ? Also read good things about Bill Hirsch engine paints but wonder about the color as well .

I was referring to 65-440 - I was looking at the Por15 chrysler turquoise.

I used it from Summit, quite a bit cheaper thru Summit. I Just painted my 69 383 AC engine with it. Looks great.

Sorry for stepping on your post, but I thought maybe you or the other posters might know if engine paint (looking for hemi orange) can be found in brush on paint in a can. I have use Por 15 on many parts and body parts. Don't skimp on your prep. I have used it with fiberglass to repair rusted floor pans. Great success, stronger than the steel and paintable itself.

Yes, I used POR15 turquoise. 16 years ago and still looks great! Even where the exhaust manifold superheats on the passenger side, there are no burnt or browned section from the heat. I painted it with a brush while the engine was still in the car and it flowed out like it was sprayed. Make sure you go overboard in the cleaning process - that is the key. Even the RV2 AC compressor is POR15 black. The black did lose some gloss over time.

I used por15 turquoise and it is very high quality indeed! As said by others, no need to spray it as it flows so well off the brush.

I painted my disassembled 383 with Por15 turquoise. As I assemble it some outside edges of the gasket surface need painted. do I have to scuff the whole motor and repaint?
Also, when I clean the exhaust manifold surface there will be more touch up.
Thanks,

Haven't tried the Por 15 engine paint yet, but I will. I hate the Mopar brand rattle can engine paint. Doesn't cover well, so takes more to do the job, and I can literally wipe it of Clorox kitchen wipes. Just hope that I can get the yellowish orange Hemi in Por 15.

I'm assuming you're referring to the race hemi orange, not the street hemi.
I'm pretty sure it's not available from por 15.
I also despise the Mopar brand race hemi orange. Way, WAY overpriced, doesn't cover, has the durability of milk.
I ended up buying a can of Omaha orange from Bob Mazzolini. I thought it was a gamble, but he assured me it was correct. He was right.
I am very happy with it so far.
Unhappily, I hear Bob is having health problems, and closed his shop.

What a moron moment. One cover is upside down. (thanks dadsbee for letting me off the hook)
I still have an issue at the oil pan and front cover that is bare after cleaning the gasket surface.
Thanks again.
