missed part of the thread 68 coronet 2 dr HR with tired 318

Sorry about this messed up thread 360 came out of a 74 dodge 1/2 ton PU .

Thanks that answers that question, is the 360 pick up oil pan different then a car ? what I'm doing is swamping a 318 in a 68 Coronet to a 360 from a 74 dodge pu.The 360 was in a 74 1/2 ton PU that the owner pass on. So his wife gave me the truck. He had installed this 360 he bought from I guess a Mopar dealer it has maybe 500 miles on it. I drover the truck for a week just to see how the engine ran. It;s fine. Now I 'm putting the engine in 68 Coronet I have. I just like to have all my ducks in a row be for I get started. Picture is the coronet it is going in.

Generally you need to be sure the pickup matches the pan. Truck/van pans are not the same as auto pans, in my experience.

This engine has yellow tag left rear of block reads Part # P5249498 S/N 432289 Mopar performance Parts Canada Cummings O.E.R Numbers on Left front D/S bellow head are stamped 2nk under that # is 398 reading across fron 2nk is 5.9L 0742 1 205AC D/S casting # 53020006AB360 P/S casting # 07062 or 82 not sure! Is this a Magnum engine ?

That part number shows up as a 300 HP Magnum based crate motor assembly. If it's a Magnum, it should have 10 bolts holding each valve cover onto the head.
Got any pictures?

From magnumswap.com Magnum engines are factory equipped with a truck-style rear sump pan. For installation in a car, you need the mid-sump standard car pan for a 360 engine. The Magnum uses a different gasket than the LA, but the good news is that you can use one of the nearly leak-proof one-piece rubber Magnum gaskets. You should be able to buy a mid sump pan from any number of aftermarket suppliers. I would talk to Mancini first. Wes still works there but not sure if they offer a discount for FBBO. I forgot to ask when I ordered a trans pan from him a couple of weeks ago. More info here: Tips and Tricks

Because that engine comes with a mechanical fuel pump, I don't think they use the magnum front cover, they use the older A block cover behind the water pump, so maybe 1 piece oil pan gasket won't work. Magnum covers are used with electric fuel pumps.
