What happened to Taxis? They seemed like a viable option until scabby uber and lyft came around.

What happened to taxis? Too damn much money.
Needed a ride to a midnight train boarding. The 12 mile Taxi ride would have cost twice the 250 mile train ride.

Phoenix airport to my house in Uber $75.00. Parking in the ramp at airport is 19.00 a day so if I’m going to be gone more than 4 days…Uber. There are no more taxis that anyone should ride in.

I only found a need for them 2-3 times in my years. They seemed affordable then. But that’s limited experience for sure.

Amtrak Senior round trip from Needles to San Berdoo was $74. Twelve mile Taxi ride from my house to the station (12 miles) at midnight was $85. Or rather, would have been. Finally managed to get the gf to take me.

Then had to wait for 2 1/2 hours for the "running late" train. Due at 12:15, arrived at the (closed, almost non-existent) station at 3am.
