I'd like to hear from those who have used an external oiling system for the RB engine. I am looking at a 440 block that has had the oil pick up drilled out at the wrong angle. Don't want to buy a boat anchor!
Direct from ad:

"This is a 76 model 440 block. This has been bored 30 over all machine work is fresh motor was run for 500 miles pulled out of car and decided to go a different direction. Only problem with the block is you must run an external oil pickup due to being drilled at an incorrect angle and the pick up tube will hit your rods due to this incorrect angle"

Have the Milodon oilpump and cover for external oiling.
It's a hemi on RB subframe.
Great fit and no oiling issues.

Thanks to you two fellows for your quick response, my machinist says bring it on down, it isn't his first rodeo....lol.

all the external line will do is let the pump rotors pull oil on the outside of the rotors rather than the inside. usually the external lines are #12 hose, larger i.d. than 1/2" pipe, and a smoother transistion to the pump. it does have a performance advantage.

hi, what lewtot said is true .the Milodon system is great, I've run a dual line swinging pickup system on my last blown 440 and a single line staic set up on my current 500" stroke. sytem are street friendly, many advantages to running the external feed , one is very low restriction on the feed side of the pump milodon makes a low profile pan set up for oiling externally .the proper way to resize the original oil pickup threaded hole is to get at it with an end mill, offsetting it slightly to getaway from the pickup boss wall that is very thin near where the connecting rod swings by .the threads come real close to that edge of the block and some have cracked .if this happens you'll be aerating the oil (sucking air ) and wouldn't even know it .aerated oil will not support the loads on the crank and rod bearings .so have no fear Milodon is in California any questions ask for tom very smart guy http://www.milodon.com/View attachment 311792.
