Location
York Pa.
So attempting to locate where the sob's are building. I looked for evidence where they might b! found rubber shards just in front of the rear seat and under the rear seat floor mat.
Decided to remove the rear seat back and cushion, quite the job.
Anyhow no nest so far.
Which brings up another question, where does the jack and jack hook and the lug wrench actually go?
I looked in my shop manual and parts book and found no pictures, section 13 gives part # but no location.
there is in all trunks a sticker in b-bodys that show the proper set up and location of the spare and jack stuff but no where is there one for a SW.
first picture is the drivers side wing vent rubber that they chewed. # 2 is the mess I found under the seat. #3 whats left of the build sheet. #4 current jack location. #5 spare tire area. #6 part i need to replace, it's the d side hing cover for the back seat.

Them bastards! Only way to stop em is lay out a bunch of them sticky traps

on a 64 fury wagon the jack goes like in your picture. behind the second seat.

I just had this conversation at work today. someone said they hate moth balls and will keep them out of the interior? does it really work?

I tried everything, only one worked completely. I took a 2 foot 2x4 from our swingset years ago, it's cedar, and keep it on the rear floor when the car is not in use.

They hate Spearmint! Get some extract or oil for candles and a couple of small containers. Place some cotton in the containers then a couple of dozen drops of the extract. Place one in the car and one in the trunk. Makes your car smell good and no mice. Or spiders. Spiders hate it too along with mosquitos and other critters.

Even the company Victor, one the original mouse trap companies is making a spearmint scented item to use now.

I hate the little bastards; they have been terrible this past year. I saw a study here last year about the effect of different scents on mice. Moth balls did nothing, And nether did the second thing they tried. The one that repelled them completely was (peppermint oil). The study showed this nice little pack of 3 liquid vials for around $10. I tried to find them and ended up calling Victor directly. They had stopped making the product about 6 months earlier. I had some "essential" peppermint oil to help repel spiders and it does work. However, I do not like the smell of peppermint oil myself and I sure couldn't stand my car smelling like that. I have been using a botanical product called "Fresh Cab Rodent Repellant", which I really like. Unfortunately they changed the formula a year ago and it doesn't work as well as it used to. The guy from Victor tried to sell me a new product that is supposed to repel mice that you sprinkle around the perimeter of what you want to protect. Unfortunately I found out it also is (Flammable)! So, I use mouse traps along with the Fresh cab stuff and it does seem to help. I am quite happy to hear that they are making Spearmint, because I actually do like that scent.
That pic from dadsbee is a horror story. I had the little varmints in my headliner also and I sympathize! Good luck on your mouse debacle!

Spiders also hate citric fruits... so oranges and the like can help keep them away

They might be hiding in the rockers, my car was full there when I took it apart!

That whole moth balls concept is a puzzler. How do they get their tiny legs apart?

I use dryer sheets and change them out every other month. So far they seem to work.

I keep a mouse trap at the corner of every garage door, including the service door and one or two along the perimeter walls (mice run along the perimeter). I usually get 6 -10 every fall when they are looking for a place to winter, before they get into the garage.

Same here nothings works like traps all the other stuff is just snake oil.

We have a lot of mice here and I would love to exterminate every last one of them but that isnt going to happen. I have found that in my case, drier sheets seem to work relatively well, I also bout some natural aromatic bags that you put into the cars or where ever. I will try anything to keep them out.

Mice are destructive. Little pests.

I bought a 66 Fury ragtop quite a few years ago. The rat crap was 4 inches deep on the floor and in the trunk. Pulled the rear lower seat out to find a couple mummified ones . Sold the car.
