If anyone's got a 69 GTX with thumbwheel radio and is ready to install a set please contact me.

Please PM me if you are looking for a dash set for a 69 GTX or 69 R/T w/ thumbwheel radio and are ready to install them.
Thanks.

I have a 69 GTX and original radio. I am pulling the car apart not really putting it back together, BUT, I am at a point I could reinstall both to review fit if that is what you are looking for. Issue is....I am in Victoria BC Canada!

I would put it in my 68 gtx this weekend or next
Lmk the price, thx

thanks for your awesome work to fill a huge gap of available parts in our hobby (obsession)!

I received your set today for the 68 x push button radio. I'm super happy with what you developed and will be a nice cherry on the top for the dash I'm getting ready to assemble.

One thing I did note and you did as well was adhering the thin poly to the aluminum was somewhat problematic. Would appear you used some epoxy and stitch adhered it at the perimeter while trying to limit the wicking of the adhesive in and messing up the look.

When I received my set the end of the hockey stick popped loose. No means a show stopper as I can re-adhere it, but wondering what you learned about the best technique / adhesive to do that? I wonder if temperature swings led do different thermal expansions between the poly and the aluminum and stressed out that adhesive point?

Amywho, happy customer. Here is a pix or two of your set aside of some originals from both a 68 x and 69 x.

Wow, it looks like you have (2) broken 8-track faceplates. They are rare.
You are exactly correct. I clamp the perimeter and use 5 minute 2-part epoxy, which ends up being 3-minute epoxy. It takes 2 batches since it dries so fast. Wicking is the enemy. If you can think of a better option I'm all ears.
I must have screwed up on yours. I tried to pry a properly adhered set apart and it was VERY difficult. Maybe I'll throw a set in the freezer and then in the hot sun to see if temp swings make a difference.
If you're not successful in the repair I'll send a return label and you can ship it back to fix it.

Let me ponder the adhesive some....usually a problem like that I like to kick around ideas in my head for a bit.

No problem here fixing that popped corner.

Wicking is an issue. Maybe we need to think about some more viscous adhesive.

Other thing I was pondering. I'm thinking after some years pass dust infiltration will start to add up. A full or near full perimeter seal would help with that.

I finally installed the dash trim in my 69 Coronet R/T. The photos make it appear they do not match the console wood grain but they really do.

They are beautiful! Better looking than factory originals.

Made and sold by member @SoCal440GTX . Thanks.

Kevin, see post #1 thru #149 in this thread.

Sorry SoCal, I figured he got them from you and I didn't pay attention well enough to what thread it was. Rookie move!

I want a set!! I have a 69 GTX automatic with 8 track. I am pulling the car apart now do no rush yet.

Maybe you can pm me?

@SoCal440GTX your inbox is full.

I was going to PM you that I had o use 3M 2-sided tape to install the hockey stick over the glove box since the screw holes would not let me drop it down enough to align properly with the radio face plate. No worries; it ain't going anywhere.

Nice job on all the work you did on the smallest of details. Like, aligning the wood grain pattern and horizontal chrome lines from the face plate to the hockey stick.

Sorry about that. Sometimes there is a slight mismatch between the printing and the waterjet cutting, and it is completely out of my control. (unless I buy printing and waterjet cutting equipment and do everything myself.)
It's random and only noticeable where the radio piece meets the hockey stick. I figured you'd just create another screw hole, but I can see maybe that's not desired.

Can you post a picture with the glove box door open?
Thanks!

No problem. The holes in the dash may have been drilled ever so slightly higher in my car. To remedy this you could open up the slotted holes a bit.

Here's the photos you requested.

Sorry if I’m clueless. But who do I contact about getting a set of these Woodgrain inserts? I don’t have a GTX or R/T. Just a 69 Coronet 440. I have a new NOS AM 8 track I want to install. But, I cannot find a silver & black 8 track radio faceplate. So, I decided to replace the 3 silver & black pieces with Woodgrain ones. And since I have saddle interior...it would look nice. Please let me know with whom I need to speak with about these. Thank You!
