Ok before anyone starts reading me the riot act... I know there are a ton of variables but I just did a stall speed test on the converter in my Wagon. It is a factory 764 hi stall bought by the cars previous owner from Pat Blais. It stalled at 3000 RPM. I think that's pretty good for a factory converter. The engine is a 446 with stealth heads 10.6:1 compression a rpm intake and a Hughes mechanical cam. I am not sure what the wagon weighs but I am guessing over 3800 lbs.. so is this just a magic converter??? What are your stall speed observations with a stock converter? Either the 710 low stall or 764 high stall?

Many years ago I ran a stock 340 converter behind a blown SB. Motor made so much low end torque the brakes would n hold past 2400. I don't know what it flashed to, but I'd bet over 3K.

I took a 318 out of a Dart Sport and put a mild 340 in it useing the stock 904 trans and converter. The 340 was stock other then headers , .474 MP cam and the 318 Eddy dual plane intake. It worked pretty good as the car ran 13.40's @ 105 on street tires thru the pipes. And this was in 1981 when we did not have good drag radials. Dont remember what it stalled but it worked pretty good. Ron
