Has anyone tried putting 8.5mm plug wires into the factory type brackets?

Looking to clean my Firecore wires up a bit and the factory reproduction kits looks very tidy. Just concerned the wires may be too fat.

it's tight with 8.5mm. put some lube like spray silicone on the wires and it helps.

?????
You would have to rework the brackets. Wires are to fat. The 7 mil has a pretty good pinch to it already.

Just saw the repro plug wire bracket kits available and thought they may work.

Have yet to find any wire holders I really like yet from aftermarket.

You might be able to ream the factory plug wire brackets out very slightly to fit.

I open them out a lot. Then use a short piece of the small diameter corregated plastic wire loom stuff where it snaps in. I can make a tight fit and not worry about damaging the wire.

i use the 1968 style brackets on both my cars with 8.5mm MSD wire. they're a little snug but some silicone spray on the wire lets the tighter ones fall in place. all in all this combo works fine for me. i think the plastic brackets might be tight.
