That mustang II is actually not nearly as bad a car as people tend to say these days.
You can hot rod the hell out of a 302, and it had rack and pinion steering WAY before the corvette did.
My biggest issue with those is they hadn't yet figured out how to make a car smaller on the outside without being cramped as hell on the inside.
