If your user name is tagged in this post, you WON! Here's what's going to happen next.
WINNERS:
For those who prefer Paypal:
Please send your payment(s) to Ed at his Paypal address,
[email protected].
If you won more than one item, you can pay for each one separately or add it all up and make a single payment instead.
Please be sure to note the Item Number(s) you are paying for in the comments section on the Paypal form AND in any private communications you have with the donor(s) of the item(s) you won so there is no shipping confusion later.
There are no fees charged if you use the "Friends & Family" method but there
will be a fee to Ed if you choose the "Goods & Services" option. (Please note that any dispute that may arise over a particular item will most likely not be covered by Paypal's buyer protection policies in either event anyway since your payment is going directly to Ed rather than to the person who is sending you what you bid on.)
Save a screen shot of any electronic payment you make to prove to the donor that your obligation to the auction has been satisfied.
For those who prefer to mail a check or USPS money order:
Please Start a Private Conversation with
@moparedtn to obtain his mailing address. If you don't know how to do that, simply click on his user name right there with the "@." When his profile page opens up, choose "Start a Private Conversation" and fill in the empty boxes.
For EVERY WINNER:
Be sure your settings allow for site notifications and that your Inbox has room for new messages.
Since non-Gold members are prohibited from attaching photos to Private Conversations, I suppose the only other verification/proof to donors will be to attach your screen shot of the payment(s) right here in the thread. Be sure to include the Item Number(s) and tag the person (or people if your payment covers more than one item) who donated it by adding an "@" to the beginning of their user name so they are alerted and can begin preparations to send out your item.
Start a Private Conversation with the individual who donated the item you won to provide your mailing address and make private arrangements for shipping. If you don't know how to do that, simply type an "@" followed by his or her user name and it will appear in a little box you can click on. When the page opens up, choose "Start a Private Conversation" and fill in the empty boxes.
Note that some donors generously offered to cover shipping costs while others did not. I encourage everyone to be reasonable and split shipping costs 50/50 if any arguments arise.
DONORS:
If there was a High Bid on your donation, start getting your item(s) ready to ship out to the winner. Find a suitable box and pack it well enough to endure rough handling.
Be sure your FBBO settings allow for site notifications and that your Inbox has room for new messages.
The winner has been instructed to provide proof and to tag you in this thread when payment for your item has been made.
The winner should be contacting you directly via Private Conversation, providing his/her mailing address and the auction Item Number.
If you did not include shipping costs in your donation, cooperate to make whatever private financial arrangements are required between you and the winner to satisfy reasonable shipping costs so that everyone ends up happy with the result.
Ship out your item. I encourage all donors to purchase enough insurance on the parcel to cover the higher of 1) the bid amount OR 2) the market value of the item that was donated.
If you are not tagged and/or contacted by the winner immediately, please be patient.
This is a voluntary effort and sometimes stuff happens despite awesome intentions. If you reach out to them and don't hear anything from the donor for a couple weeks or more, then let me know and I will investigate.
I hope I covered it all. If you have questions about anything just call me after 10:00 a.m. Central at 731-613-9192 or send me a private message here.
