FCA Hyundai Merger

Asia Times published a story last week highlighting a scenario where Hyundai Motor Group CEO Chung Mong-koo would launch a "takeover bid" for the Italian-American automaker at some point before FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne retires next year.

The story relied on unnamed sources, and Jim Trainor, a spokesman for Hyundai in the U.S., called the rumor "completely groundless."

But
[completely baseless rumors of] a Hyundai and FCA merger would offer [clicks on our sh*tty Detroit newspaper website that no one reads any more].

Fixed.

Sent from the Chrysler Tech Center on my outdated cell phone.

For the trucks.
After ditching the Dodge tag and incorporating the Fiat diesel don't see that happening. Maybe wrong but just don't see it.
If Fiat did dispose of Ram other than Jeep it only leaves 2 vehicles in the Chrysler, Dodge line worth buying. Charger and Challenger. They are both Dodges.

Welcome Carmine

A hostile takeover bid would never get off the ground, given that we now have an actual President with an allegence to America.

Nor would it be acceptable to the Agnelli family in Italy.

This is fake news, citing "unnamed sources". Something to generate clicks for those burned out on politics during a slow news week. I'd sooner believe an automotive story in "High Times" over the Detroit Free Press which has more coupon pages than actual news coverage.

...and hello Mario. :)

I'm here to off-load some Magnum stuff.

For the trucks.
And tractors/construction equipment
Hyundai would be also acquiring Case International and New Holland.

The more I think about the more I think that may be the real intention

well I just bought a "jeep" to replace a kia sorento , that I had sine 2007 and it was a beauty!!

What can he do about a non American Company, which FCA is now?

Lots of back channels my friend. I assume Skorea wants to remain on our good side. Given that pretty much every Asian and European auto maker is an arm of their socialist economy, their governments hold tremendous sway over their CEOs.

Here's Hyundai's new sale ad...

Back in the 80's I used to say "it's got nice seats" about toyotas and datsuns.....

BTW the kia girl is Mckinze Roth.

Apparently she's done other car related gigs and other picture related work.

Decent eye candy although I can't find the recent local spot where she's in this killer tight short skirt outfit....

I agree with the speculation part

IF anyone was to want Chrysler/FCA it'd be for the Jeep brand
it's the world wide seller

Funny how Jeep has been the most popular brand for a slew of manufacturers that have had financial issues.
