Hello all,
I have a question regarding a strange marking on my fender tag. I am NOT asking to decode the whole fender tag. I have done that. I just am not certain if the marking circled in the attached photos has any significance. The marking is stamped opposite (sunken instead of raised) of the rest of the fender tag. I am attaching photos of front and back of fender tag. Car is a 1968 Plymouth GTX. Thank you.

Are the Lynch Road plant cars the only ones with inspection marks?
No. Most plants had an inspectors stamp or way of indicating the car was inspected.

Different plants did things differently and that's one way we can identify at which plant the car was built. Some punched tags, some used a second tag that was punched and some plants don't show anything. Stamping protocol can change year to year.

Thank you again. This is my first dive into the mopar world. I inherited my grandfather’s car. He ordered it new while living in Michigan. I am the second owner of this car. Numbers matching engine and transmission. Factory wheels and hub caps in the trunk.

Baby Blue, my second and fifth GTX (I owned the car twice) was a near twin. Never restored, just well maintained. Yours will be gorgeous when done, but I might be biased.
